Digicash by Payconiq, the preferred digital payment solution for Luxembourg residents, rebranded as Payconiq

According to a TNS Ilres study conducted this year, Digicash by Payconiq is now the most used digital payment solution in Luxembourg (62%), with an average of four monthly money transfers per user. Supporting these figures, and according to the same study, the application obtains a score of 9.1/10 in recommendations.

 

2021 was a very successful year for Digicash by Payconiq: with 40% more users and 60% more transactions, and with Banque Raiffeisen getting on board this summer, the app now covers the vast majority of retail banks in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

Since the takeover of Digicash in August 2017, Payconiq has now successfully embedded itself in the payment habits of Luxembourg users. Thanks to the strong partnership with Luxembourg banks and merchants who have been key in building on the considerable efforts made over the past few years, Payconiq has achieved its goal of creating one of the most advanced mobile payment platforms in Europe.

As a natural progression, from now on the brand is to be known as Payconiq, replacing the name Digicash by Payconiq. From today, users will be able to see the new logo on their favorite digital payment solution. Payconiq now available for PPRO partners in the Benelux

  • Payconiq International strengthens its position as European leader in multi-country payment solutions.
  • All PPRO partners in Benelux will now have access to QR-code mobile payments via the Payconiq integration.

Payconiq International and PPRO launched a partnership to provide international e-commerce merchants with a convenient payment method applicable across Belgium, The Netherlands, and Luxembourg. The collaboration will simplify the boarding process, facilitate the access to an innovative mobile payment method and unlock further developments in terms of value-added services.

Payconiq International and Servipay launch strategic collaboration

Payconiq joins forces with Digicash: users now able to pay mobile in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg

  • The Digicash by Payconiq users can now pay in Belgium and the Netherlands; Payconiq users in Belgium and the Netherlands can pay in Luxembourg.
  • Digicash by Payconiq and Payconiq users can send money to each other through their apps.
  • Luxembourg merchants join the 90,000-merchant strong Payconiq network and can accept payments from Payconiq users all over Benelux.

The latest Digicash by Payconiq apps take the Luxembourg mobile payments sector to the next level, as they become part of the first interoperable mobile payment platform in Europe. Full interoperability between the different countries is another step towards a contactless and cashless society.

The new Digicash by Payconiq apps released in November have evolved their design to further highlight their association with the Payconiq mobile payment platform. In addition, Luxembourg users are now able to scan Payconiq QR-codes at merchants or on invoices in Belgium and the Netherlands. They can also send money to all Payconiq users, regardless of their country of residence[1].

At the same time, Belgian and Dutch Payconiq users can scan Digicash QR-codes and send money to Luxembourg users.

 

Digital onboarding and new products for merchants

All current Digicash merchants will benefit from a growing payments platform that guarantees an omni-channel customer experience with optimised costs. With Payconiq, merchants in Luxembourg will get access to:

  • Dutch and Belgian Payconiq users, especially the cross-border workers;
  • Quick and easy digital onboarding and a modern platform, where they can monitor transactions and download reports;
  • New services, such as bulk payments and refunds;
  • New products, better suited to their needs, on terminals, vending machines, invoices, digital screens or as top-up.

Payconiq picks Luxembourg for new headquarters

Payconiq, the mobile payment service for online, on-thego and direct payments, has relocated its headquarters to Luxembourg. The company started in Amsterdam where Payconiq was founded and has thrived under the wings of ING’s innovation hub. Starting today, Payconiq will continue as an independent entity, putting down roots in the ‘payments capital’ of Europe.

Luxembourg will act as Payconiq’s central hub for the countries in which it is active and drive the company’s continued expansion in Europe. Following the relocation, Payconiq is supervised by the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (“CSSF”), the supervisory authority for the financial sector of the Grand Duchy of Luxemburg.

Along with the move, Payconiq, as sole entity, has received investment from ING, KBC and Belfius as shareholders. In the near future, more international operating banks will participate in the mobile payment service provider.

Payconiq is already active on the Belgian market and will soon enter the Dutch market. Thanks to the cooperation with Digicash, customers will be able to use Payconiq for online, on-thego and direct payments right across the Benelux in 2018.
