Payconiq does two good deeds for the holiday season.

During the holiday season, Payconiq, your preferred digital payment solution for Luxembourg, donates €1 to charity for every payment made with Payconiq in-store and wraps up your gift with the creative touch of Thomas Iser. Payconiq, your preferred digital payment solution for Luxembourg, is launching a new inclusive campaign to celebrate the holiday season with you while supporting those who need it the most, thanks to two complementary good deeds.
  • 1 payment in-store with Payconiq = 1€ donated to a charity.
From November 28th until December 24th, every Payconiq user will have the opportunity to do a good deed in-store. For each payment made with Payconiq in-store, Payconiq will donate €1 to the charities Caritas Luxembourg, Fondation Cancer or Île aux Clowns. This "coup de coeur" campaign aims to support Payconiq users in their daily lives. Since November 2021, most payment terminals in Luxembourg have been compatible with the Payconiq payment applications of partner banks. The QR code is automatically displayed on the terminal's screen when paying in a store. So what could be more straightforward than to be on your side when you do your holiday shopping? Instead of a simple promotion or coupon, Payconiq wanted to take concrete action by donating 1€ for each in-store purchase via Payconiq terminal to charities.
  • "Get a gift, give a gift": Payconiq wraps your gifts during the holidays!
The spirit of solidarity during the festive season continues, as, throughout December, Payconiq teams will be present every weekend in Cloche d'Or and City Concorde shopping centres to wrap up your gifts in exchange for a donation via Payconiq to the charities Caritas Luxembourg, Fondation Cancer or Île aux Clowns. Thanks to a superb collaboration with the Luxembourg artist Thomas Iser, you do a good deed while having your gifts wrapped in beautiful paper. The cherry on the cake is that when you give your gift, the recipient can also donate thanks to the QR codes on the gift paper. James King, Luxembourg's head of Payconiq: "We, at Payconiq, are delighted to be associated with the associations Caritas Luxembourg, Fondation Cancer or Île aux Clowns, and with the Luxembourg artist Thomas Iser, to make the end-of-year celebrations more inclusive. Thanks to our expertise and our QR code-based, easy-to-use, multi-channel solution, we allow everyone to donate easily and conveniently during the end-of-year shopping and gift wrapping. We also offer the possibility for every Payconiq user to make a solidarity gesture directly in-store, making the customer experience easy and convenient."  About Payconiq International Payconiq International is the first European payment company to offer proven, scalable, and real-time payment solutions across the entire omnichannel experience. Payconiq and Worldline boost mobile payment in Luxembourg by enabling Payconiq on the Worldline payment terminals.

From November 2021, most payment terminals in Luxembourg will be compatible with Payconiq payment applications of partner banks. When making a payment, the QR code is automatically displayed on the terminal screen.

This great achievement in the payments sector results from a partnership between two local players who are leaders in their respective fields: Worldline, a payment solutions provider established for over 35 years in Luxembourg, and Payconiq, the mobile payment solution preferred by Luxembourgish residents since its inception in 2012.

It is a new stage in mobile payment for all Payconiq users in Luxembourg, which is increasingly present in all types of shops. Payconiq payments are contactless, easy to use and secure, simply by scanning the QR code displayed on the terminal screen with one of the Payconiq Banking apps. Available free of charge on the app stores.

For merchants, Payconiq acceptance integrates seamlessly into their existing ecosystem and requires no additional infrastructure. All transactions are processed by a single partner (Worldline) via their payment terminal. All Payconiq transactions done via Worldline terminals are referenced on the statements issued by Worldline.

At a time when mobile payments are becoming a market standard, this alliance enables both players to meet the rapidly growing demand of their customers. This broadening of the range of payment methods offered to merchants allows them to increase their turnover and boost the acquisition of new customers and the retention of their existing customers.

As Payconiq enters a new phase in its development on the Luxembourg market, Worldline intends to provide merchants with the most complete and relevant payment offer possible by welcoming on these terminals a new innovative payment method and a partner with more than 200,000 users in Luxembourg.

Quote Payconiq | James King: "We are very pleased and proud to partner with Worldline, which is the leading provider of electronic payment solutions in Luxembourg and Europe. This partnership fits perfectly with our commitment to increase our in-store presence and to support the country's retailers, independent professionals and small businesses.”

Quote Worldline | Stefanie Hüls, Head Merchant Services Luxembourg: "Together with Payconiq, we share the ambition to continuously improve the buying/selling experience of our respective customers and their satisfaction. The acceptance of Payconiq on our solutions is a strong added value for Luxembourg merchants, who benefit from a complete and centralised payment offer via our intermediary.”

Digicash by Payconiq, the preferred digital payment solution for Luxembourg residents, rebranded as Payconiq

According to a TNS Ilres study conducted this year, Digicash by Payconiq is now the most used digital payment solution in Luxembourg (62%), with an average of four monthly money transfers per user. Supporting these figures, and according to the same study, the application obtains a score of 9.1/10 in recommendations.

2021 was a very successful year for Digicash by Payconiq: with 40% more users and 60% more transactions, and with Banque Raiffeisen getting on board this summer, the app now covers the vast majority of retail banks in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

Since the takeover of Digicash in August 2017, Payconiq has now successfully embedded itself in the payment habits of Luxembourg users. Thanks to the strong partnership with Luxembourg banks and merchants who have been key in building on the considerable efforts made over the past few years, Payconiq has achieved its goal of creating one of the most advanced mobile payment platforms in Europe.

As a natural progression, from now on the brand is to be known as Payconiq, replacing the name Digicash by Payconiq. From today, users will be able to see the new logo on their favorite digital payment solution. In this way, and as James King, Head of Payconiq Luxembourg is delighted to say: “This new identity anchors Payconiq as a leader in the Luxembourg landscape and promises great prospects for development not only in the Grand Duchy but also on a European scale, which has made it possible for Luxembourg and cross-border users to make payments in the Benelux countries since December 2020.”

Payconiq now available for PPRO partners in the Benelux

  • Payconiq International strengthens its position as European leader in multi-country payment solutions.
  • All PPRO partners in Benelux will now have access to QR-code mobile payments via the Payconiq integration.
  • For Luxembourg, this means more opportunities for users to pay with their favourite mobile payment solution when shopping online, locally or abroad, and an easier integration of Payconiq services for e-commerce businesses.

Payconiq International and PPRO launched a partnership to provide international e-commerce merchants with a convenient payment method applicable across Belgium, The Netherlands, and Luxembourg. The collaboration will simplify the boarding process, facilitate the access to an innovative mobile payment method and unlock further developments in terms of value-added services.

PPRO – the leading provider of local payments infrastructure has added popular Benelux payment method Payconiq to its portfolio to offer a best-in-class coverage of the region. This move by the two payment solution experts will empower thousands of businesses to unlock their full earning potential. In addition, millions of users in the Benelux region will be able to pay easily and safely, with Payconiq-powered apps, for their shopping online.

The integration of Payconiq solidifies PPRO’s payments portfolio in the Benelux region as one of the most comprehensive in the industry.

"We are thrilled to have another popular payment method for Belgium, Luxembourg, and The Netherlands in our offering. This integration with Payconiq will support our PSP partners and their thousands of merchants, helping businesses get the best conversion rates in these markets", says Jose Martinez-Benavente, Head of Payments EMEA at PPRO.

When asked about the partnership, Guido Vermeent, CEO of Payconiq International said, “PPRO is an e-commerce champion in Europe and a strategic partner for us, and we’re delighted to be working with them and develop a better experience for international merchants. We are the first in Europe to develop multi-country payment solutions, with local flavours, so partnering up with like-minded payment providers is a logic step for our growth”.

What does it mean for the market in Luxembourg?

This partnership expands Payconiq’s online footprint among local and international online businesses. It will enable Luxembourg residents to pay online, in a secure and fast way, at a wider selection of local and international e-commerce websites.

For local merchants that are already working with PPRO’s partners, this means a smoother access to Payconiq services, without any extra technical developments.
