Femmes en détresse

The aim of the association is to offer women, their children and young girls effective protection against violence by developing and running shelters for women and young girls in distress, and information and counselling centres. It provides temporary accommodation, with or without supervision, for the women who use its services and shelters. Femmes en Détresse helps to improve the living conditions of women, helping them to integrate into economic and social life by guaranteeing them psychological, legal and social support and by offering them specific training.

Fondation Hëllef fir d'Natur

The Fondation Hëllef fir d'Natur was created in 1982. For over 40 years, it has been resolutely committed to protecting nature and preserving biodiversity in Luxembourg. Our primary aim is to acquire land of high ecological value in order to preserve and safeguard biodiversity by re-establishing existing biotopes. The Foundation has launched, contributed to and participated in a number of large-scale projects and initiatives, such as safeguarding the wetlands and valley bottoms of the Oesling, restoring the pearl mussel population, renaturating the Alzette at Schifflange, the action plan for high-stem orchards and the National Tree Day.

Handicap International

Handicap International is an independent and impartial international solidarity NGO working in situations of poverty and exclusion, conflict and disaster. Working alongside people with disabilities and vulnerable populations, it acts and speaks out to meet their essential needs, improve their living conditions and promote respect for their dignity and fundamental rights.
Qamar Farouk Muhammad Al-Kurdi (left) is a 7-year-old child from Jabalia, an area in the north of the Gaza Strip. Qamar's life took a sudden turn when tank shells hit their house, injuring Qamar and leading to the amputation of her right leg, below the knee. Qamar is the youngest in a family of five. She lives with her parents. The family lives in the Jabalia camp. Qamar benefits from HI rehabilitation services, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy and psychological support. These services aim to improve Qamar's mobility and psychological well-being. Qamar now uses crutches to walk and therapy is continuing.

Fondatioun Kriibskrank Kanner

For 35 years, the Fondatioun Kriibskrank Kanner has been providing day-to-day support for children and adolescents with cancer and their families. This translates into three essential and professional missions: direct assistance to the concerned families, raising awareness of childhood cancer and onco-paediatric research. The Fondatioun Kriibskrank Kanner’s first and most important mission is to support critically sick young patients and their families. Our multi-disciplinary team provides individual support from accompaniment through to remission, offering administrative and financial services, psychological and social support, and educational and recreational activities. The Foundation also undertakes awareness-raising campaigns and helps to improve the condition of sick children. Finally, the Fondatioun Kriibskrank Kanner actively supports paediatric oncology research with a single aim: to treat better and cure more children. The Fondatioun Kriibskrank Kanner is financed exclusively by the generosity of the general public, and undergoes an annual external audit as well as the requirements of the asbl Don en Confiance Luxembourg.
